Community Chest
The Community Chest Fund aims to support small-scale projects that will improve the quality of life for our tenants in local communities or where we have homes.
Grants of up to £1000 are available to any voluntary, community or recreational groups within the county of Conwy and for individual applications which meet the criteria set out in our guidelines.
The Community Chest started in 2009 and has a budget of £250,000 to be distributed over five years. The fund will be administered through a panel set up by Cartrefi Conwy consisting of four tenants nominated by the Tenants’ Forum and an Independent Board member with administrative support from staff.
The panel will use their local knowledge to decide which projects should get support, this means:
• Assessing each of the projects to ensure they meet the criteria set;
• Making decisions on allocation of grants; and
• Monitoring the expenditure and outcomes of each agreed project.
Grants are available for the purchase of specific items or towards the cost of specific pieces of work. Each request will be assessed on a set of criteria, to ensure that any monies allocated will assist in achieving Cartrefi Conwy’s overall aim and objective of providing a better quality of life in our communities.
