Policy Statement
The Association is committed to providing equal treatment to all existing and potential staff, Members, residents and customers and equality of service to the communities in which it operates. Cartrefi Conwy is committed to developing a culture in which Equality and Diversity is embraced within all its activities.
This statement applies to: All Board members, staff and contractors of Cartrefi Conwy.

In respect of: the treatment of staff, potential staff, tenants, customers and all dealings with members of its communities regardless of age, gender, race, ethnic origin, nationality, religion or belief, colour, cultural background, disability or sexual orientation, or any other reason which cannot be justified;

Providing clarity as to: individual and managerial responsibility for compliance with this Strategy, to promote fairness through recruitment, selection, training, promotion, pay, career development, discipline, grievance and the relationship of all staff to each other;

To eliminate: discrimination, victimisation, harassment, bullying and any other act, or omission of an act which has as its effect the disadvantage of one person against another on the above grounds;

To encourage: integrity, openness, trust and respect in an environment where any member of staff will be encouraged to challenge unacceptable behaviour and will be supported in such an action unless it is untrue or made in bad faith;

Cartrefi Conwy will take positive action if it appears that its Strategy is not being fully implemented;

Cartrefi Conwy’s Welsh Language Scheme provides details of how it will treat the Welsh and English languages on the basis of equality in providing services to the public in Wales.
