Cartrefi Conwy’s priority is to deliver on its promise to bring homes up to the Welsh Housing Quality Standard by 2012 through an intensive and wide-ranging programme of improvements.

The improvement programme is progressing well. The imporvements to your homes have been divided into three packages - windows and doors, heating systems and internals (kitchens, bathrooms and rewiring). 

Using the survey information we received from Savills Consultancy, we will ensure that the relevant homes receive the correct improvements to allow us to reach the requirements of the Welsh Housing Quality Standard as set out by the Welsh Assembly Government. 

The programme for replacing front and rear doors and upgrading heating systems is due to be completed soon.

The biggest programme will be the internals works. This programme will be spread over time and completed by December 2012. 

Please refer to the table below to see when your area is scheduled for the internal works.

It is important to remember that:

• You will be contacted well in advance of the works coming to your area to allow you to prepare.
• While we will be working hard to stick to this plan, there is a chance that slight changes might be needed as we progress.
• Cartrefi Conwy has the responsibility to ensure that all homes, where feasible, reach the Quality Standard by 2012, but we will also continue to ensure that all homes are kept to this standard in the future.
• Normal repairs are still dealt with in the same way by phoning 0800 012 1431.

Working in a different way

The scope of this improvement programme is larger than anything we have undertaken in the past; however we are placing more importance on ensuring that you know what is going on to your home.  Therefore, each contractor will have dedicated Tenant Liaison Officers who will meet with you before the works start and also during the works to make sure that everything is going smoothly. 

Also, as part of this process, we want you to be able to put your own personal touch to your home - so you will have a choice of colours and designs for tiles, flooring, worktops, kitchen cabinet fronts, and front and rear doors.
